Mr. Joseph McInerney has been a successful private equity and real estate professional for almost 30 years. After formerly starting his career as a small business consultant for Arthur Andersen in 1985, he became a financial professional to the Pritzker and Coleman Organizations, both highly successful and respected single family offices. In these capacities, he served as a trusted manager for a variety of private equity and real estate investments. In 1993, he founded Banner Capital Corp. for the purpose of being a private investor and management firm. Since that time, Banner and Mr. McInerney have served in a variety of capacities including owner/operator, senior executive, fund manager, director, advisor, merchant banker, and developer for many investments. These investments have covered a wide variety of investments by geography, industry, and type.
Through this experience he has become a seasoned private investing professional with a unique set of operating and investment skills. His partners have included some of the wealthiest single family offices and individuals in the world.
He holds a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign) and a M.B.A. from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Managing Real Estate Broker in the State of Illinois. He Co-Founded the Private Equity Center at the University of Illinois. Former Governor of the National Association of Small Business Investment Companies, Director of the Illinois Finance Authority, Director of Culver Academies’ Parent Board and Big Shoulders.
Mr. McInerney is a dual citizen of the U.S. and Ireland. He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys travel, sports, Ceili dancing, Scrabble, and Chicago history.
